The Director (Dr. Leonard Church) | Red vs Blue | Inmate

1. A Most Unwelcome Welcome [CW: Taking yourself off the census]

He sat at his bunk and watched the introductory video with a deep scowl. In a way, it was profoundly ironic that his intended final act had ultimately been a failure. Perhaps not a complete failure... seeing as he's in a body that both was and wasn't his own.

Dr. Leonard Church is very familiar with the process of flash cloning and all the problems that come with it. From what he can see, the technology is different here and he very much hopes that he isn't facing the same issues in the future. Which he supposes is another irony. Denied a fast death in favor of a lingering one.

He starts to play the message again. And again as he seeks to glean as much information from it as possible. Did you not want to listen to your greeting on repeat? Too damn bad.

2. An Alliance of Inconvenience

The Director has absolutely no interest in whatever pairing the powers that be have in mind for him. Frankly, it's insulting to have some sort of personal babysitter cum therapist. Jail him, that's fine. He'd been expecting that for quite some time. But don't patronize him with some team building bullshit.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news." Pro tip: No he doesn't. "But you're wasting both of our time."

3.a. Not So Alone In The Dark

Once it becomes obvious that the ship isn't about to crash, The Director decides to take advantage of the situation presented to him. While he would prefer to find a workshop of some sort, he has no idea where it could be and it's too dark to wander aimlessly. So he makes his way to the infirmary instead, where he can find plenty of things that would be just as useful.

Don't mind him while he helps himself to whatever useful tools he can find. He's sure they won't be unduly missed.

4.a Truth Hurts

As soon as he realizes what's going on, the Director's priority is to find someplace isolated to keep his thoughts to himself. Not that there's ever really any true privacy amongst the prisoners... at best he has his bunk, but the door is hardly secure. Not that he's afraid of speaking the truth, he's well practiced at being truthful without being true. He would simply rather avoid anything potentially awkward.

But he can't exactly hide in his bunk the whole time. For one the damn thing plays havoc with his back and it's too cramped for sitting comfortably, for another there are more... practical reasons.

Feel free to run into him when he's trying to avoid being run into.

b. Stuck With You

The Director stands at what he's calculated to be the furthest safe point from the unfortunate soul stuck with him. This place is lacking in intellectual stimulation and this is the first challenge he's run into. So as frustrating and painful as it is, it's a curious problem.

"Is it purely proximity, do you think?" He's as much talking to himself as he is actually asking for an opinion. "The most likely possibility is that there is some sort of signal between the implants."

A faint smile crosses his face. "I wonder what would happen if there were a wall between us."

5) The Peregrine

Dr. Church makes his way to Archimedes and the resource library. If he can't actually do any work towards his own experiments then he can at least expand his knowledge base. It doesn't hurt that he finds Archimedes quite fascinating.

He observes each interaction between Archimedes and those coming to him for information. Taking note of everything from the way the owl speaks to it's movements. So, thank you for contributing to the closest thing to research available to him in the moment.

((OOC: The Director has a strong southern accent and a very distinctive speaking pattern . Trying to type it out phonetically would be annoying for both of us, so I've opted to use italics to give a sense of the way he emphasizes certain words as he talks. If that's too annoying let me know and I'll cut it out.))
