lol I was not expecting the venture bros cap but what a pleasant surprise. still vaguely like, what if i apped the monarch tho, even after revisiting some eps and going OH YEAH THIS SHOW IS..................old and a little offensive at times oh boy

also man i keep forgetting to look into what exactly the eye thing??? is??? i feel like if the show explained it it must have been visually and i was looking away at the time. all i know is there is some needle stabbing involved.

YEAH my problematic fav alas lmao. they've adapted well but the hazards of having been on the air for like twenty years... but the monarch would be a delight. or 21, gosh

the eye injury is from vander cutting it during their fight, and then the ~toxins in the river~ doing extra damage. other than that, like most things in the show they leave it pretty vague. the injections are a variant of shimmer made for him by singed. probably to control it, because it visibly gets worse / his pupil gets all distorted after the timeskip.

i've been rolling with the injections controlling the speed of that degeneration & acting as a painkiller for the nerve damage. so when grandpa is extra testy in game, it's because his face fuckin hurts
